What are coverage limits?

Do I have to insure my entire herd?
No. We can offer coverage for one animal or an entire herd. Numerous varieties of species can also be covered in the same policy. We can cover animals from 90-days old up to 70% of their natural lifespan in captivity.

How do I obtain Coverage?
We can send you an application for you to fill out. Once we get that back we can provide a quote specific for your farm/ranch/zoo.
Once you receive your proposal and want to move forward with having it bound, we will need:
-
Pictures/Videos of the animal/animals that are dated.
-
Pictures of gates, fence posts, corner posts, water/feed trough, any sort of shelter that the animals have access to inside the enclosure, etc.
-
If transit is to be covered, we will need pictures of the truck & trailer to be used. We will also require the address for the location the animals are being shipped from and the address where it will be delivered to.
-
Veterinary Letter of Health (LOH) to be provided on each animal that is to be covered in the policy. A visual inspection must be done by a large animal veterinary within 14 days of policy inception.
-
Justification of Value (JOV) on each animal to be included in the policy. This can be provided by a Bill of Sale, wire transfer receipt, invoice, etc.

When does Coverage begin?
After completing the proposal request and receiving approval from the underwriters, Coverage begins after all requirements have been met as defined in "How do I obtain coverage?" on the date the binder is generated from the insurance company.

When does Coverage end?
If there is no death loss the policy will expire on the ending date of the policy. If there is a death loss that portion of the policy expires the day of the loss. If there are multiple animals on the policy and you have a claim the policy will continue for the remaining animals until the end of the policy period.

How do I file a claim?
You must notify us immediately upon the death loss of an animal. We will send you a claim form. You will need to fill it out and send it back as well as have a full necropsy done by your vet or local biologists to determine cause of death. Once we get the claim form and the necropsy
from you, we will send it to the underwriters to get them to approve the claim.
